The Alpina offered a quaint atmosphere with its all-wood interiors and breathtaking views. It is centrally located, just a ten-minute walk from the train station and close to the Gornergrat railway. I enjoyed a comfortable bed and hot water in the shower, along with checking in at the sister hotel next door, where I appreciated having an actual key for my room.

A bit more soundproofing could also enhance the experience, as I heard noises from adjoining rooms.

I had a lovely time watching the sunrise from my balcony. The staff even helped me find a knee brace when I hurt myself skiing, which showed they genuinely care about their guests.
